(TNX Vincent F5MJV and Maurice F5NQL)

Hi Friends

The EUCW 160 meters 2008 CW contest results are online at http://www.uft.net/articles.php?lng=fr&pg=43.

The Union Francaise des Telegraphistes, is the only one sponsor of this event.

The rewards will be given at the yearly Union Francaise des Telegraphistes, UFT, Convention which is scheduled to be held in HUSSIGNY-GODBRANGE, near Longwy, North East of France, Lorraine, on 3rd of May 2008.

The rewards not received while this Convention, will be sent to the winners and awarded , before June 30th 2008.

I, Vincent ORTEGA, F5MJV, President of The Union Francaise des Telegraphistes, UFT, would congrate and thanks a lot , all of you , Hams who sent a log and all of those who spent these six hours on the Top Band . I and the UFT, give you a rendez-vous for the 8th, 2009 party.

Now would you boomark your diaries, the 8th EUCW 160m CW party will happen on January 3&4, 2009.

These are some comments from the organizer gang for 2008:

- 17 EUCW clubs were in the test; among them, 3 (UFT, AGCW, HTC) were in by their Official Club Station (F8UFT, DL0DA, HB9HC).

- The number of loogbooks , year by year is always increasing.

- 21 DXCC entities were in the contest (20 countries)

- The QRP section marks an interest for more and more hams - 13 logs for 8 DXCC entities - .

- For the first time , in the SWL section, two stations run over 2000 points final.

- Two stations (instead of 1 in 2007), have beaten the 15000 points , but the 2007 record of 18620 points is always the best result.

Again we congrat all of the entrants in this contest, and all of us are hoping you have spent a good contest.

See you in 2009.

Vincent Ortega, F5MJV, President of the UFT and the organizer gang, Ghislain, F6CEL, Alain, F6ENO and Maurice, F5NQL.

1.3 Swiss National Mountain Day contest
(TNX Paul HB9DST / AA1MI)

Hello all,

If you think it is appropriate, would you please announce the annual Swiss National Mountain Day contest to members of EUCW-affiliated
clubs? Although only HB9 stations can participate for awards, we are certainly interested in getting points from as many stations as
possible. Also, it's a good opportunity to work HB9 stations in CW, many of whom will be working QRP.

Because this is an 80m contest, we most frequently make contacts with stations in neighboring countries, but others a bit further out might
want to listen to the band to see if they hear any of us.

tnx, 73
Paul HB9DST / AA1MI
ECM for the Helevetia Telegraphy Club HB9HC/MB9HTC
aa1mi@arrl.net

Event: Swiss National Mountain Day

Date: Sunday, 20 July 2008 (third Sunday in July)

Time: 0600 - 0959 UTC (0800 - 1159 HBTime)

Frequencies: 3510 to 3560 kHz

Mode: CW (A1A)

Exchange for non-NMD stations: signal report (RST)

Full rules in English can be found at
http://www.uska.ch/contest/hf/reglement_2006_e.pdf

Note: In this contest, the participants must operate from an altitude of 800m or higher and using portable power. The QTH must be registered
with the NMD commission prior to the contest so multiple stations are not on top of each other. The total weight of the entire station --
including power, antennas, masts, rig, key, etc -- must not exceed 6 kg. That's not really a big challenge any more, but within that weight
budget some stations now run at >100W. We're waiting for the first station to get to 1 kW! In years past there has been a special award
for the highest scoring station with a total weight < 2 kg. This year the special award is going to the station that does something
"extremely unusual" -- and that can pertain to any aspect, whether the rig, power, antenna, transportation, overnight accommodations, food...
Myself, I'll be very curious to see what people come up with.
